AXS Law Group co-founder and Franchise law attorney Morgan Ben-David has been named a Legal Eagle by Franchise Times, a trade magazine covering the franchise community. Morgan was one of 230 attorneys in the U.S. named to the 2019 coveted list. Criteria for the Legal Eagle selection includes number of nominations made by clients and peers as well as legal excellence in the franchise law industry.
Morgan focuses her practice on franchise and distribution law, commercial litigation, hospitality, and general commercial transactions. She primarily represents franchisors, franchisees, and multi-unit owners in a wide variety of commercial matters involving the franchise relationship. Morgan also has extensive experience representing franchisees in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and mediation in franchise disputes. She also provides legal counseling to franchisors in the development and structuring of franchise systems, including preparation of franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents, franchise sales compliance, and international expansion.
Morgan is a frequent speaker and published author on the topic of franchising. ‘Managing Catastrophic Risks in Franchise Systems’ was published in the Fall 2018 edition of the American Bar Association’s Franchise Law Journal. She was invited to present at the 2019 International Franchise Association’s Legal Symposium, speaking on Enforcement and Risks of In-Term Step-in Rights and Post-Termination Buybacks.
Morgan has represented clients in state and federal courts and in arbitration proceedings throughout the U.S. She is admitted in Florida, the Southern District Court of Florida and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. She received a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University, magna cum laude, and a B.S. from the University of Florida, magna cum laude.
